Shikara mornings on Dal Lake, the gondola at Gulmarg and the pine-lined valleys of Pahalgam.

Ladakh rewards patience. At around 3,500 metres, Leh asks you to slow down on arrival, and this journey is built around that: a full rest day, a gentle second day through Sham Valley's monasteries and river confluence, and only then the climb over the high passes.
From there the landscape changes by the hour — sand dunes and double-humped camels in Nubra, the rough Shyok road, and Pangong Lake, which turns from turquoise to slate as clouds pass. Nights are simple and scenic rather than lavish, which is how Ladakh is best experienced.
Transfer from Leh airport to your hotel and rest for the day. Drink water, skip exertion and let your body adjust to the altitude. A short evening walk to Leh market is optional if you feel well.
Drive west to the Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill and the Indus–Zanskar confluence at Sangam. Return via Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa for the evening light.
Cross Khardung La with a short photo stop at the top, then descend into Nubra. Visit Diskit Monastery and its giant Maitreya Buddha before the evening at the Hunder sand dunes.
A slower day in the valley. Optional excursion towards Turtuk, a Balti village near the Line of Control, subject to permits and road conditions. Evening at leisure in camp or guesthouse.
Drive via the Shyok route to Pangong Lake. Arrive in the afternoon and watch the colour of the water change through the evening. Nights here are cold, even in summer.
Early start to catch the lake at sunrise, then drive back to Leh over Chang La. Stops at Thiksey or Hemis monastery if time and energy allow.
Transfer to Leh airport for your onward flight.
